OLD MONTREAL History through Heritage

So much to discover

Each chapter of this urban heritage adventure covers a distinct historical period. Learn just how much the district’s rich architecture and its archaeological remains, streets, squares, courtyards, piers, public artworks, as well as its heirlooms and antique documents, can tell us about its history and that of the people who have lived there over the years. The book also includes maps to allow a better comprehension of the evolution of the historic district from its inhabitation by native Indians up until today, and will help any interested reader in the planning of a visit.

OLD MONTREAL History through Heritage includes a preface by well-known historian Jean-Claude Robert and chapters by leading experts Joanne Burgess, Jacques Des Rochers, Gilles Lauzon, Jean-François Leclerc, Louise Pothier, Alain Roy, Alan M. Stewart and Roland Tremblay.
